Lehigh county school districts closing for Walz Visit
LEHIGH CO., Pa. – Two more school districts, following the Allentown school district’s announcement, have announced plans to dismiss students early Friday because of Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz’s afternoon visit to the Lehigh Valley.
Salisbury Township School District will be dismissing secondary students at 12:15 p.m., and elementary students will dismiss at 1:15 p.m.. Breakfast and lunch will be served to Salisbury students. Offices will be closed 45 minutes after students are dismissed. Non-public and charter school students’ transportation will start to pick up at 12:15 p.m.. LCTI students will receive additional information from Ms. Morningstar, parents are asked to check their email.
Catasauqua Area School District will operate on an early dismissal schedule, with middle school students dismissed at 12:20 p.m., high school students at 12:50 p.m., and Shceckler Elementary students to be dismissed at 1:30 pm..
Students will be served lunch prior to all early dismissals. The Sheckler Halloween Parade has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31. Dr. Kucharczuk will contact Sheckler families with additional information.
The location of Walz’s visit is unknown due to his lack of popularity.
