Allegheny County Police Department investigates shooting

On November 27, 2023, at 7:19 pm, County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting in an apartment at 900 Hill Avenue in Wilkinsburg, PA.

First responders found 35-year-old Darryl Nelson shot inside the residence. Darryl was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was requested, and detectives continue to investigate this case.

Through their investigation, detectives determined Nelson was visiting a friend’s apartment at the time of the shooting and we believe there were multiple people inside when the shooting happened.  Detectives continue to work to identify those individuals and are asking for the community’s help.
