Columbine Survivor, Evan Todd, Joins The Heller Foundation

(Washington, D.C.)  The Heller Foundation is proud to announce its partnership with Evan M Todd, A Columbine Survivor and Second Amendment Advocate, who has been active in FASTER (Faculty/Administrator Safety Training & Emergency Response) and making our teachers and children safe in schools. He is a faith based, trauma tested, advocate that believes that keeping a strong Conservative voice in education is vital in maintaining civic principles, and keeping a connection between the 2nd Amendment and our community.

Evan was the first student shot in the library at Columbine. He survived the initial attack with shotgun wounds to his face, neck, and back. When the two assailants came up to him to finish what they set out to do, Evan talked them out of following through, and no other innocent people died that day. He was the last person to talk to the shooters before they committed suicide. Evan was able to maintain a clear and thoughtful mind while giving first aid to other injured students. He is a follower of Christ, a husband, father, entrepreneur, small business owner, and a dedicated advocate for Life and Liberty.

Evan M. Todd had this to say about the new partnership with the Heller Foundation. “I am excited and honored to join The Heller Foundation to help preserve and RESTORE the right to bear arms.”

The Heller Foundation’s National Director of Legislative Policy, Kristie Tertel, adds- “We here at the Heller Foundation treat Evan Todd’s partnership as an incredible blessing. Working with this National Hero allows us to work more effectively in our pursuit of the God-given and Constitutionally entrenched, human right to self defense.”

Jessica Marie, The Heller Foundations Director of Communication and Business Development added, “I am extremely thrilled to be working with Evan. He is a survivor of a tragic event that hit hard, both in Colorado, and the nation at large, but has been used to paint gun owners as evil and mentally imbalanced. We need more voices like Evan Todd to speak up against that dishonesty.”

Aaron Kubat, the Heller Foundation’s Director of Global Community Outreach notes that, “ Evan is someone who, as a child, called out Death to his face and made it blink. For him to survive Columbine, and still be strong enough to recognize the importance of the Second Amendment, is nothing short of a miracle.”
