Allentown school board has a new member
Allentown, PA – Robert “Nick” Nicholoff was named to the board by unanimous vote to fulfill the three-and-a-half-year term recently vacated by Daysell Ramirez after many interviews with many candidates including a former school board member Robert E. Smith Jr.
Nicholoff is a human resources professional working at Silgan Containers in Breinigsville. Nicholoff has a double major in philosophy and history and graduated from the College of New Jersey in Trenton, NJ, Nicholoff worked as a tutor and social worker. He also has experience in policy design investigation and conflict resolution. “I have a passion for education,” he said.
Nicholoff said the board had three essential functions; curriculum design, investigation, and policy making. “I would be an asset to those three functions,” he said.
Nicholoff, a recent transplant from New Jersey, will serve out the rest of Ramirez’s term, which ends in December 2027. He will be sworn in at 6 p.m. on Sept. 12 before the board’s next committee meetings.
