Coplay mayor Stephen Burker has been reported dead over the weekend
COPLAY, Pa. – The mayor of the Borough of Coplay has passed away at age 74 from natural causes According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Burker, a former Coplay council member, successfully campaigned and won as a write-in candidate for mayor when the position was vacated in 2021.
Officials say Burker will be missed “not only in spirit but in his commitment to what he felt was his duty to give back to the one square mile he loved.”
Steve Burker leaves a legacy of selfless service and immense charity to his community. His loss is sure to be felt by all whether you knew him or did not according to the press release.
Flags will fly at half-staff until today at all borough buildings.
