Man arrested for making threats of assisnation
A former U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant, 63‑year‑old Peter Andrew Stinson of Oakton, Virginia—who served from 1988 to 2021 and was a sharpshooter and FEMA instructor—has been federally charged for making repeated online threats to kill former President Donald Trump, according to unsealed court documents.
Over the past five years, Stinson allegedly posted graphic threats using weapons like rifles, poison, knives, and offered a “support capacity” if someone else carried out an assassination.
“Just three inches and today would be a different day,” criticizing the shooter’s accuracy
In May and again on June 11, 2025, he posted threatening messages under coded language saying Trump needed to be “luigi’ed”
Stinson was arrested on Monday. He made his initial appearance in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, and is being held without bond. A detention/preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday.
