Upper Nazareth Fire Department crews got dispatched at 3:03 AM to a dwelling fire with entrapment
Upper Nazareth- Major accident Schoeneck Ave. Crews got dispatched at 3:03 AM to a dwelling fire with entrapment. On arrival, crews discovered this was a motor vehicle accident in a ranch-style home. The impact pushed the homeowner’s car that was unoccupied, in the garage, through 3 walls and ended up in the residents’ living room and the dining room area.
All occupants of the home escaped injuries thanks to the car in the garage acting as a blocker and prevented any further penetration into the house. The house needed to be shored up to prevent any further collapse.
To complicate matters, the car was running and was leaking gas in the dwelling. Thank you to the following mutual aid departments that assisted at the incident (Nazareth, Lower Nazareth, Nancy Run, Bethlehem Township).
Other agencies involved were Lehigh County Special Operations, Upper Nazareth Emergency Management, Nazareth EMS, Upper Nazareth Police, and the Northampton County 911 Dispatchers. Crews cleared 8 hours later.
