Lanta bus is making big changes in 2025 starting on May 14, here is what you need to know especially being a cash user

Lanta Bus is introducing a series of major updates to its fare payment system throughout 2025, making it easier and more convenient for riders to pay and save.
Effective May 14, 2025 the 10-Ride Pass will be discontinued, and the 31-Day Pass will only be available for purchase at designated transit centers.
Token Transit may still be used but no longer be able to purchase passes on the app. You may still use the transit app and purchase passes but cannot purchase the 31-day pass on the app.
Starting July 1, 2025 Lanta Bus will launch its new Smart Card (Limited) system, giving riders a flexible, reloadable way to pay fares.
As of October 2025, passes will no longer be sold or distributed on board buses. All riders will be required to pay a $2.00 flat fare upon boarding using one of the accepted methods
Riders will be able to tap and pay with the following methods directly on the bus:
- Credit and Debit Cards
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Samsung Pay
These contactless options will function as Smart Cards and contribute to fare capping.
When using a card of digital payment device you must use the same card for an example if your card ended with 5555 first time use, each time you use it will bring you closer to the $60 cap. If you use two different cards they will be considered 2 different passes.
If you use cash on the bus you will never get to be capped at $60 as Lanta Bus will have no way to keep accurate track of your rides which will cost cash users more money than a card user.
Those wishing to load funds onto Smart Cards using cash will be able to do so at participating InComm retail locations.
