After months of delay ValleyRide is coming to the Lehigh County
If you rely on the Lanta bus to travel there are going to be some changes after months in delay.
Valleyride is officially launching on August 12, which will big changes for consumers.
On September 1 the Token Transit app will no longer work, the Transit app will be Valleyride’s official app. Plans to start the credit/debit card system is scheduled for Jamuary 26, 2026 according to the Lanta website.
On August 12, you can either download the transit app but if you do not want to use your phone or do not have a phone you can pick up smart cards at the BTC, ATC, or ETC.
Fares will be as follows:
3-hour pass: $2.00
Day pass: $4.00
31-day pass: $60.00
There is far capping when you scan the card it will reduce $2.00 from your account but if you use it again it will cap for $4.00 for the day. Once you spend $60.00 in less than 31 days you will not be charged for the rest of the month.
If you start using the smart card everyday for 15 days you will be capped by August 27 which means you will not pay a penny until after September 12.
Cash can still be used to add value to the smart cards at any of the retailers, if you pay the bus driver you will not receive fare capping
The LantaVan will not be affected by any changes and still free for senior citizens.
